Quem quiser utilizar o transporte público, pode pegar a linha 9 – esmeralda da CPTM e descer na estação Vila Olimpia, já que as estações de metrô/trem encerram as atividades a 1hs do domingo.
O problema de ir com transporte público é se os shows atrasarem e você ficar na mão.

E se algum amigo do Rio quiser passar dicas de transporte para o Teatro Oi Casa Grande, fique à vontade.

The Memphis Sounds – Ike’s Moods

Traffic Entertainment presents The Memphis Sounds Ike’s Moods, an all-instrumental collection of Isaac Hayes’ most well-known songs. In a similar vein as the “Ultimate Breaks & Beats Instrumentals” album, Ike’s Moods takes the best from Isaac Hayes’ catalog and transforms them into instrumental gems.

Just as Hayes defined funk and soul in the 60s and 70s, the members of The Memphis Sound have carved out their own unique contemporary sound that not only attracts a younger generation to the genres, but also pleases fans of the sounds since their inception. Consisting of members from El Michels Affair, the Dap Kings, and Antibalas, these instrumentalists have been a part of a movement of neo-wave funk and soul musicians, redefining the sound through projects with Mark Ronson (his most recent album Version) and Amy Winehouse (Back to Black, as well as touring with the singer); reworking classic instrumentals for the Wu-Tang Clan on a series of 7″ records and performing live alongside the clansmen; and other various live and studio recorded projects.

Ike’s Moods contains such classics as “Shaft,” “Walk On By,” and “Look Of Love,” and aptly pays homage to the many moods and musical stylings of Hayes. An innovator of his time, Isaac Hayes is most known for his work on the music for Shaft whose theme song was made famous by its wah-wah guitar and multi-layered symphonic arrangement. Passing away in August 2008, Hayes left behind a career that spanned an extensive discography, filmography, and a handful of awards including three Grammy’s, an NAACP Image Award, and an Academy Award. Celebrate the career of this American music icon who defined the funk and soul genres with Ike’s Moods.

Revirando o baú, encontrei uma raridade, não muito velha, mas rara pelo encontro, na minha opinião as 3 vozes mais marcantes da famosa época da Motown, do lado da Filadelfia é claro.

Sente o clima e entre nesta onda dos “Falsetes”, um melhor que o outro.

There can be no argument that in the early 70s the center of the soul music universe was Philadelphia.  Combining progressive arrangements with stellar songwriting and a seemingly endless supply of quality vocal groups, the City of Brotherly Love captured what Motown accomplished in Detroit in the 60s and took it to the next level.  And among the great Philly vocal groups, three of the biggest were the falsetto-led balladeers the Stylistics, Blue Magic and the Delfonics.  Last year, three decades after those groups hit their peak, legendary guitarist/producer/songwriter Bobbi Eli conceived the idea of bringing together the three tenor lead singers of those acts for an album celebrating the art of falsetto soul, much as opera was celebrated in the 90s by its own Three Tenors.  The result of this concept recording session is the new All the Way From Philadelphia, on Shanachie Records.

The pedigree of Russell Thompkins, Jr. (the Stylistics), Will Hart (the Delfonics) and Ted "Wizard" Mills (Blue Magic) is beyond question.  Their vocal work on such classic soul ballads as "You Are Everything," "(Didn’t I) Blow Your Mind" and "Sideshow" established them as among the greatest soul singers of their generation.  So the burden on Eli was to record an album worthy of both the concept and the singers, and he has, in part, succeeded.  In deciding to fill the album with faithful "covers" of hit songs from the 70s and 80s, he’s created a disc that is certainly enjoyable, if safe.  But, perhaps unwittingly, it is the addition of two non-hits on the album that hints at the heights that this disc could have reached and leaves the listener wanting, if not a do-over, at least another shot for the 3 Tenors of Soul to make an album of completely new material that serves as a satisfying bookend to their substantial recording legacy.
